Stations 24 and 26 were alerted at 5:12 A.M. January 1st to respond to the area of the Dairy Queen on State Route 88 in Union Township for a report of a vehicle accident with one vehicle through a telephone pole and into a building.  Chief 26 went in service directly to the scene and updated all units of a vehicle into the building with one patient trapped.  Chief 26 requested assistance from Allegheny County Station 271 (Library VFC) as Squad 26 along with Capt. 5 call in route with a full crew.  Squad 26 arrived and began stabilization.  Engine 26 arrived and assisted with stabilization and patient care.  Engine 26 was diverted to Trax Farms for a possible Landing Zone.  Crews from 26 and 24 extricated the patient and handed care over to Medic 2400.  Due to bad weather, the LZ was scrubbed and medics transported by ground.  Crews remained on scene for approx. 2 hours while utility companies removed hazards from the roadway.
